Dear Parents,
Our daily lives have changed, our Mission to Evangelize in the Faith has not. At Our Lady of Victory, High School Youth Ministry successfully adopted the LifeTeen.com program to impart knowledge of the Scriptures needed for teens to develop a sacramental relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to empower them, through prayer, engaging activities, small groups discussions, and fellowship opportunities, to grow confident in their Church and pick up the cross of discipleship so they can live in a manner that leads others to “glorify God (Galatians 1:24)”. Our ministry will always remained centered in the person of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.
The experience through the pandemic, strengthen our conviction that Youth Ministry, is primarily a personal encounter with Jesus through the relationships teens make with each other. They share their faith, struggles, and grow together into a strong community we call The Church with its center on Jesus, present, body, soul, and divinity in the Eucharist. For that reason, our doors are open, welcome back, let us reunite and share the Gospel of Truth, Life, and the Way of Jesus Christ. Registration is open for grades 9 through 12 and available at anytime, we welcome you, “come and see (John 1:39)”.
We meet at the Parish Hall every Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Our schedule is posted online and it will be updated as more activities are added depending on ministry resources, parental support, and teen participation. We are following the Diocesan guidances on COVID-19 prevention, please visit ptdiocese.org for updated guidance. It is of upmost importance that if your teen is not feeling well, whatever the illness might be, they remain home to protect others. We would do our best to keep your teens and our staff safe. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.
Communication is key. Please, do read Flocknote text and e-mails. Read our Quarterly Newsletter to keep informed. We strive to keep our text/e-mails to the minimum required. We rely on them to keep you informed in the least intrusive way. Please read and provide feedback as required.
We are always looking for more volunteers. Whatever time you can invest on the teens, joining us on Wednesday’s for Life Nights, or volunteering as chaperone/driver to activities will be greatly appreciated. Pass the word around, we do have Safe Environment requirements (fingerprints/training) that everyone must meet, but we do need help to succeed. Feel free to contact me at fonsecaa@olv.ptdiocese.org
May the Lord bless you all,
Arnaldo Fonseca
OLV Director of HS Youth Ministry
